The Scriptures reveal to us that no less a figure than Jesus Himself took “retreats” by pulling away from the demands of ministry to the people. Sometimes He pulled away by Himself, something all of us as leaders should do (ref.). At other times, He gathered His disciples and had a corporate time away with them.
We believe it benefits us as leaders in the 21st century to also take time to pull away together to be with Jesus. These are rich times, rejuvenating times, relationship-building and deepening times, and often, re-envisioning times. It is also a context for healing and prophetic ministry in a peer supportive context.
